The job role
A new exciting opportunity has arrived for a Planning Manager to join our busy Development Management Team.
You will manage our existing motivated team (delivering Development Management and Planning Enforcement functions for the Rochford District) allocating workload in relation to planning applications of all types, together with negotiations, correspondence, appeal and informal enquiries from the public and developers.
You will report in to the Assistant Director to drive forward the improvement of the planning service, providing pre-application advice and guidance to internal and external customers, managing the processing of the most complex planning related applications, and work on a number of major proposals in an expanding service.
You will need an in-depth knowledge of planning policies and legislation as well as experience of managing and developing staff required, a good understanding of development viability issues, experience of dealing with major and complex planning applications.
