Highways Ranger (2 vacancies)

Scale 4:  £18,070 - £20,138 per annum

37 hours per week

Rochford District Council is looking to appoint two enthusiastic and pro active individuals to take on the exciting role of Highways Ranger.

This is an opportunity for a positive and enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated and hardworking Open Spaces Team. We are looking for versatility and self-motivation.

As a Highways Ranger, you will be tasked with maintaining the pride in our District, in ensuring that the highest quality of visual amenity value is achieved for our residents and stakeholders. Duties will include hedge cutting, grass cutting and the use of pedestrian power tools and hand tools.

Work upon the highway will require some traffic management.  Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that successful candidates have a key understanding of the importance of Health and Safety and team working.

It is essential for a successful candidate to be able to undertake physical and demanding work in all weathers, in all seasons. Work within the Open Spaces team can be challenging, however; this is outweighed by the sense of pride and the self rewarding nature of working as a part of a team within the horticultural industry.

As a local authority, customer focus is very important to us and we would expect a successful candidate to act in a professional manner at all times.

For an informal discussion, please contact Adam Aldridge on 01702 318053
