SENIOR AUDITOR -OR- AUDITOR

Senior Auditor£31,404 - £34,106

Auditor £23,866 - £28,221

We are looking to recruit an experienced individual who wishes to make a difference to the work of a local authority and is keen to develop innovative approaches to risk management and internal control. Rochford is a small Council in a mixed urban and rural area and the successful candidate will undertake auditing roles across the whole range of the Council’s services.

Whether you are an experienced professional or someone who is looking to develop a career in Internal Audit, your role will be varied with exposure to audit issues and developments operating at all levels. At both levels the role involves working on a variety of projects under the direction of a Principal Auditor. Your grade will reflect your skills, professional qualifications and experience.

Applicants applying at Auditor level will know the basics of internal auditing, be outgoing, self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a positive approach and willingness to contribute towards our excellent reputation for providing respected assurance work within a local government environment. Support will be provided to progress towards qualification to enable progression to a Senior Auditor position.

To be considered at Senior Auditor level you should have previous experience in a modern internal audit function, preferably in the public sector. You will already possess a relevant professional qualification (CCAB or IIA) or will have made good progress towards achieving one. You’ll get the support you need, but you’ll be confident in your ability to pick up new areas.

Previous applicants need not apply.
